Low Emission Zone (Households) Self-referral portal

Step 1 - Low Emission Zone Support Fund

To combat local air quality and improve public health, Low Emission Zones have been introduced to the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen. Low emission zones restrict the vehicles entering the zones based on emission standards; older more polluting vehicles will be unable to enter without penalty.

To support households to adapt to the low emission zones, Transport Scotland is offering eligible households £2,000 to dispose of their zone non-compliant vehicle through the Low Emission Zone Support Fund administered by Energy Saving Trust.

A further grant of up to £1,000 may be available to help you transition to sustainable travel measures. Through the Travel Better fund up to 2 adults within your household may be able to claim up to £500 each to purchase selected travel measures. Alternatively the £1,000 can be utilised to purchase a cargo or adapted cycle option to support the specific needs of your household

For further information see our dedicated fund webpage.

Travel Better funding is subject to availability following receipt of the Low Emission Zone Support Fund.
